Adjunct double bass teacher to teach students of all ages and levels (beginner to advanced) at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD.
DUTIES: Teach private lessons and bass group classes -- primarily on Saturdays at the main campus, but may expand to include teaching at branch campuses in Towson, Annapolis or Howard County. Adjunct faculty positions consist of a teaching load that does not exceed 9.5 hours per week.
START: September 2017.
LOCATION: The Peabody Preparatory shares space with the Peabody Conservatory in downtown Baltimore, and also has three satellite branches in the communities of Towson, Annapolis and Howard County, MD. The Preparatory is more than 120 years old and has approximately 1,650 students studying all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, dance, theory, early childhood, orchestra, chamber music and more. Our faculty is comprised of highly skilled and dedicated individuals. We embrace the novice as well as the serious student aspiring toward a career in music.
COMPENSATION: Dependent upon experience.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred. Documented successful teaching experience required.
