Ball State University is currently hiring for the role of university supervisor. We are particularly interested in those who have the ability to cover areas as far north as Fort Wayne, Indiana and as far south as Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition, we have a specific need for those with experience in Elementary Education, Special Education, and/or Secondary Education (preference with Science and Language Arts, but will accept all content areas).
The University Supervisor is an adjunct faculty instructor in the Teachers College (TC) under The Office of Teacher Education Services and Clinical Practice (OTES-CP). The supervisor serves as the liaison between TC and the P-12 school where teacher candidates are placed for their student teaching experience. The primary function of the university supervisor is to provide guidance for the teacher candidate in their development of teaching competency, complete assessments which demonstrate that competency, and lend assistance to the mentor teacher.
-Bachelor's degree in a field of teacher education-Currently hold or have held a teaching license in that field-Experience teaching in the field in which they are licensed for at least three years in an accredited P-12 school or related administrative responsibilities in teacher education.-Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy-Must have the means to travel to multiple school sites within a specific area, and be able to navigate and work within the University's database and website systems.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
A Master’s degree.
Experience mentoring teachers in a professional, pleasant, cooperative, and collaborative manner.

We anticipate 2-3 faculty positions of need, but will not know for sure until all department chairs report their spring 18 faculty load situation.
