Point Loma Nazarene University, a faith-based institution affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, invites applications for a tenure track teaching position in the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at the assistant rank in the School of Education’s Teacher Preparation Program at its Bakersfield Regional Center. Qualified applicants should have a terminal degree in teacher education or a related field. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellent teaching at the graduate level in a Christian context, will display a strong potential for applied scholarship and service to the School of Education disciplines, and will embrace the mission of Point Loma Nazarene University. Teaching responsibilities will be across the curriculum in teacher preparation and may include instructional methodology, action research, and other education content.The School of Education is comprised of 19 faculty members with a strong commitment to high quality teaching, service, and applied scholarship. There are approximately 850 candidates working toward a credential or master‘s degree that are drawn to the School of Education for its commitment to educating students who are empowered, equipped, and transformed to work in 21st century educational settings. A valid CA teaching credential is strongly desirable.
