The Rockefeller University seeks a Head Teacher (Infant/Toddler) to join Child and Family Center. In cooperation with other team members, the Head Teacher will establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for children, teachers, and parents. Responsibilities include setting an organizational and emotional tone for the room that is responsive to children, parents, and teachers, assessing the educational and developmental needs of each child, planning and implementing a curriculum that will enhance the development of the children in all areas (cognitive, physical, social, emotional), with an awareness of the needs of each child, promoting positive and productive relationships with parents, between parents, and between parents and other staff, and educating and supporting parents as necessary. If possible, the Head Teacher will incorporate into the curriculum education and support of parents made necessary by the concurrent developmental shifts experienced by them, and will approach issues and problems professionally and self-reflectively, working cooperatively with colleagues. Will attend staff meetings, professional conferences, and engage in ongoing staff development for self, team, and others.
