Barclay School, in partnership with the Center for Educational Outreach/Whiting School of Engineering, offers summer STEM programs for Barclay School students. Throughout the program, students participate in a variety of activities including hands-on engineering, high and low-tech makerspace projects, teambuilding activities, and arts integration projects.
We are looking for an instructor that understands the basics of engineering and design and can apply an instructional style that emphasizes the process of problem-solving and design thinking. Qualified candidates will have experience teaching upper elementary and/or middle school students in a classroom setting. Candidates must be prepared to accommodate a multitude of learning styles and differentiate instruction as needed. The instructor should be able to engage and excite the students as well as encourage them as they navigate the challenges that come with engineering and design. Lead instructors for Engineering and Makerspace blocks must hold MSDE certification for Elementary Ed and/or Science/STEM.
