Position:Early Childhood (birth to 6) music teacher to teach in the Early Childhood Music Department at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. The early childhood program is a leading edge, researched based, and 15 year established curriculum developed and adapted by Dr. Eric Rasmussen, department chair, from the Music Learning Theory of Edwin Gordon. Specific needs of the position are to teach 2-3 classes on two mornings a week at both our Towson Campus, and Downtown Campus, with the potential to expand to a new Howard County Campus location near Columbia, MD.
Duties:Teaching from 9:30-12:00 on Saturdays at the Peabody Preparatory's Downtown or Towson campus beginning with the summer 2017 and continuing with the 2017-18 session Additional hours may be added for the fall.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training strongly preferred. Experience and an exceptional manner with children from birth to 5 years; excellent musicianship; comfortable in (or able to easily learn) melodies in all tonalities and meters.
