CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN TEACHER EDUCATIONINDIANA UNIVERSITY – BLOOMINGTON
The Indiana University School of Education's Department of Curriculum & Instruction invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as Director of the Transition to Teaching Program. The Transition to Teaching Program enrolls post baccalaureate students who wish to enter the teaching profession as middle school and/or high school teachers. This is a 12- month academic appointment with a negotiated start of July 1 or August 1, 2018.
We are looking for a teacher educator who can perform the following responsibilities:
·Admission Processes: Review applications·Administer the Secondary Transition to Teaching program.·Recruit students into the program. Reply to inquiries from potential applicants. ·Coordinate course offerings and scheduling in the Secondary Transition to Teaching program.·Advise students pre- and post-admission.·Teach courses in the program and in other teacher education programs.·Monitor the program so that it complies with the School of Education Unit Assessment System and the standards issued by the Indiana Professional Standards Board.·Design and implement structures for communication among the faculty, school districts and schools.·Maintain communication with other T2T programs across Indiana as appropriate·Develop administrative procedures for evaluation of and revision to the program.·Make placements and supervise students in field experiences·Develop and implement different delivery modes for course instruction to meet students' needs
Candidates will have an earned doctorate by date of employment. Experience as a teacher in grades 5 -12 is highly preferred. Knowledge of and experience in teacher education is preferred.
