Assists in the provision of appropriate, specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center (CDC). In addition, performs basic oversight and supervision for children enrolled.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate
Responsibilities:85% Provides developmentally appropriate care of children and ensures care provided is in compliance with state and NAEYC guidelines. Assists in maintaining a program environment that promotes positive child interactions with other children and adults. Interacts with children using approved child guidance techniques. Interacts professionally with staff members, parents, students, and faculty. Promotes and models safety, fitness, health and nutrition practices. Helps serve family style snacks and meals. Assists in parent involvement activities on a regular basis
10% Assist in the design, implementation, and review of activity plans, responsible for health and safety of children in assigned areas. Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations. Assists in preparing, arranging, and maintaining indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Uses prepared curriculum/program materials and assists with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment
5% Notifies supervisor of health, fire, and safety compliance concerns. Assists In achieving and maintaining compliance with Texas Minimum Standards and national accreditation criteria.
Required Education and Experience:Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent and be working toward an Associates or Bachelors degree. Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience working with children in a child care setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
