GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Lead Preschool Teacher in the Early Childhood Center collaborates with the Centers for Early Childhood Education teaching staff to ensure the high quality care and education of preschool-age children to encourage self-expression and learning in a play-based, hands-on, developmentally appropriate curriculum.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of the Centers for Early Childhood Education and Assistant Director of the Early Childhood Center
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises early childhood education pre-service teachers, interns, and work study students

This posting is for two full-time, 12-month, exempt, benefits-eligible positions within the APA bargaining unit at the rank of Staff Assistant in the Early Childhood Center. Benefits include health, dental, retirement, tuition remission, and generous leave packages according to the APA bargaining unit.
The Early Childhood Center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year round. You may be asked to work a few evenings for various family events at the center each year. The biweekly salary is $1,350.00.
Framingham State University conducts background records checks according to the Massachusetts Early Education and Care Department requirements, which include Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checks relative to prior criminal convictions and pending cases, Sex Offender Registration Information (SORI) checks relative to prior sexual offenses committed as an adult or juvenile, and finger print checks on final candidates prior to an offer of employment for all positions. Framingham State University requires specific written authorization to conduct background checks. Failure to provide such authorization shall preclude your application from receiving further consideration.
