Job Summary Oversee the School of Education certification processes, including monitoring candidate progress, recommending certification to OSPI, and gathering and reporting data on CWU Teacher Candidates. Coordinate eastside field experience placements, including communication with supervisors, Mentors Teachers, schools and district personnel. Direct support aspects of the edTPA (Teacher Performance Assessment), including orientations, tracking candidate scores, candidate support, reporting scores to programs and Institutional Effectiveness, and coordinating trainings for CWU faculty. Coordinate content assessment support for candidates. Chair SOE scholarship committee (focused on recommending all education scholarship awards). Manage SOE website content, design, and updates. Coordinate the SOE relationship with OSPI and PESB and lead other office support staff.Job Duties School of Education Certification Officer- Overall responsibility for directing and managing our certification processes, including allocation of resources, certification monitoring to comply with PESB requirements, and responsibility for outcomes, including the following:- Develop monitoring systems facilitating tracking CWU Teacher Candidate eligibility and participation in the Teacher Certification program;- Monitor curricular changes as they pertain to state certification requirements;- Serve as a principle member of the SOE committee tasked with responding to concerns with candidates, including academic, field experience, and dispositional issues;- Monitor candidate files to determine eligibility for field experiences;- Track and report logged field experience hours;- Responsibility to develop protocol for certification recommendation process; - Recommend to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), teacher, principal, program administrator, and school psychologist candidates for official certification;- Serve in the CWU Certification officer at quarterly WACTE meetings.Eastside Field Experience Placement Coordinator- Oversee, initiate and coordinate all eastside clinical field experience candidates each year (e.g., EFC 330 / 480);- Oversee, initiate and coordinate eastside Supervisor candidate assignments;- Work with school / district partners to establish placement systems and protocols aimed at consistent candidate field experiences on the eastside;- Coordinate eastside candidate field placements with SOE supervisors;- Troubleshoot all eastside placement issues / concerns with the SOE Associate Director.- Collect and clear all field experience applications, including full-time student teaching;- Serve on the SOE Candidate Concern Committee and the Candidate Admission, Recruitment, and Retention Committee, troubleshooting application and field experience concerns with the SOE Associate Director.SOE State Data Coordinator- Monitors SOE state required data collections;- Works with the SOE Associate Director to ensure state data manual compliance, including needed data collection revisions;- Works with Institutional Effectiveness to coordinate state data reporting;- Works with PESB to troubleshoot any data compliance / upload issues.SOE edTPA / WEST / NES Support- Work with the SOE Associate Director to provide state assessment (edTPA, WEST, NES) support, including allocation of resources, coordination with faculty, and candidate support, including the following:- Help coordinate state assessment support;- Assist with candidate edTPA / WEST / NES orientations;- Help coordinate support for non-passing candidates, working with score analysis, retake counseling, and faculty coordination;- Prepare yearly SOE edTPA / WEST / NES reports, outlining aggregate candidate performance, demographic gaps, support strategies, and overall candidate support.SOE Scholarship Chair- Overall responsibility for directing and managing our SOE Scholarship award processes, including developing our awarding system, managing personnel, vetting award decisions, and serving as the SOE liaison with the CWU scholarship office:- Develop and coordinate the SOE Scholarship Committee, training them in procedures;- Ensure that CWU scholarship timelines are met by the SOE Scholarship Committee;- Work with faculty and the larger CWU community, ensuring that scholarship availability is communicated to potential applicants. PESB / OSPI Liaison- Coordinate communications from OSPI and PESB to the appropriate administration, faculty, and staff;- Serve as the main conduit for communications to OSPI and PESB.SOE Website Management- Design SOE website look and user interface;- Troubleshoot, update, and revise SOE website as needed.Lead Duties - Lead others and perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records.
