Job Description :
-Responsible for daily coordination and implementation of educational therapeutic services. -Works collaboratively with other teachers, teaching assistants, specialists and administration. -Development and implementation of curriculum plans. -Facilitates the development of new skills with assigned paraprofessionals. -Keeps ongoing communication with the interdisciplinary team. -Identifies needed materials and equipment pursuant to educational plans. -Direct supervision of teaching assistants in classroom. -Responsible for the education of each student utilizing the goals and objectives of the IEP. -Ongoing assessment of each student's functioning level. -Assist with development of IEPs. -Participate in meetings and in-services. -Implementation of all required testing and reporting of MCAS. -Maintain ongoing communication with each student's family. -Regular meetings with consultants and other personnel who service the student. -Physical management of students educational and personal care needs including lifting, positioning, and changing. -Other duties as assigned by the administration. -Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
-Licensed or eligible to be licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education in severe special needs.
-Must be restraint certified or able to be restraint certified.
-Two years of relevant experience preferred.
