The Child Development Center is seeking a qualified candidate for the Associate Teacher position.
The Associate Teacher supports the Head Teacher in the planning and the implementation of a child development program for a group of children between the ages of 6 weeks and 18 months. Associate Teachers are responsible for supporting the Head Teacher in maintaining the classroom, helps to assess children and document progress and development and maintain care and safety for all children. Associate teachers plan and carry out developmentally appropriate activities and document the learning process. Associate Teachers may act as the Head Teacher in their absence, supervising support staff and University students.
The incumbent will support families as well as develop and maintain relationships with all families. The incumbent should respond accordingly to parent inquiries and needs.
Associate Teachers are required to maintain 24 hours of Professional Development annually and maintain all DPW regulations, NAEYC standards and Keystone Stars requirements. Associate Teachers contribute professionally to the program by attending professional development events, sitting on committees and contributing to the Center newsletter and other center based activities as they evolve.
