The University Child Development Center is seeking a part-time Assistant Teacher.
The Assistant Teacher position involves providing coverage in infant, toddler or preschool classrooms due to scheduled and unscheduled absences of Center staff. The incumbent will support the typical daily program in each classroom as scheduled, support the efforts of the head, associate, and assistant teachers, and may be required to supervise University students. They will also be required to communicate with parents, plan for daily activities, supervise indoor and outdoor play and excursions, and ensure the safety of each child under their direct supervision. Maintaining all state regulations and standards and national standards is required.
The hours will vary based on needs of the classroom. The hours could be between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Staff members are required to maintain 24 hours of professional development during their employment, complete required trainings and attend in-service days at UCDC.
NOTE: The hiring range is for full-time positions and will be prorated based on 73% effort. This is a four month position with an option to extend per approval of the Director.
