The Children's School, as a part of the Department of Psychology, is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Our tuition-based program is designed to offer developmentally appropriate options for morning or afternoon preschool and full-day kindergarten for children in the community as well as CMU families.
For students interested in early education, The Children's School, founded in 1968, is a great opportunity to conduct research and work directly with children. The school is a laboratory that focuses on developmentally appropriate learning for children between the ages of three and five, rich research and practice experiences for students and constructive collaboration with researchers across CMU's campus.
We are now seeking to hire an Early Childhood Associate Teacher to join our team. In this role you are responsible for working closely with the other Teachers in the relevant classroom to implement assigned individual or group activities with children. These activities include:
We are looking for someone who follows the School's safety and sanitation standards and reports signs of child's illness or unusual behavior to the administrative team. Our school year runs from mid-August through the end of May. This is a part-time position which is scheduled to work at 80% time (approximately 30 hours per week).
