Preschool Assistant Teacher

The George Mason University Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, on the Science and Technology campus (formerly the Prince William campus), is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher from September to May. Four-year-olds' classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:15 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (work hours 12:00 noon-3:30 p.m.).

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will assist the lead teacher in supervising the students’ activities.

Required Qualifications:

• The incumbent must have an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education or in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to satisfy the commonwealth of Virginia Program Leader requirements for administration of licensed child care facilities;
• Ability to attend 16 hours of yearly training;
• Must also possess or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
  
  

A tuberculosis test is required after hire. This position is subject to a criminal background investigation. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of this process.

Salary: $10.00-$13.00 per hour
