The Assistant Teacher supports the Head Teacher and Associate Teacher in the planning and implementation of an Early Childhood Program.
The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the daily activities and programming in the classroom, interacting with and supervising a group of toddler-aged children and maintaining daily communications with the families. Some supervision of student workers is required.
Assistant Teachers are required to maintain 24 hours of Professional Development during their employment and maintain all state licensing requirements, NAEYC standards and Keystone STARS requirements. High school diploma and/or CDA credential, including 15 Early Childhood Education credits required and 2 years of relevant early childhood experience.
Incumbent must have a High School Diploma or a GED and 15 Early Childhood credits.
