Occidental is a residential liberal arts college with approximately 1800 undergraduate students located in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. Estimated enrollment for PSYC 101 is 25 students per section, and the course description is: “Introduction to the primary subject matter areas, assumptions, and methods of psychology as the science of behavior. Topics include physiology, learning, perception, motivation, development, emotion, cognition, social processes, personality, and psychopathology.” Estimated enrollment for PSYC 200 is 19 students per section, and the course description is: “Introduces scientific methodology in the context of psychological research. Basic concepts in scientific inquiry and specific observational, correlational, and experimental techniques are covered. Includes an introduction to descriptive statistics.” In addition to teaching, the successful candidate is encouraged to continue their research at Occidental and will have the opportunity to work with undergraduate research assistants.

Applicants should have their PhD in Psychology or have completed all work for their PhD except for the dissertation.
