The Drake University School of Education invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education in the Department of Teaching Learning starting in the Fall 2021 semester. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (face to face and online) that support the initial licensure and professional preparation curriculum, working effectively with the education faculty and staff, and contributing to the overall mission of the Department and the University. Responsibilities also include student advising, working cooperatively with area public schools, maintaining an active research and publication agenda, participating in school and university committees and professional organizations, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to teach courses in and develop courses in their specialty field. In year one, the faculty member will teach six credit hours in one semester and nine in the other. In subsequent semesters, the faculty member will teach nine credit hours each semester. The faculty member may also have the opportunity to teach during the summer. An earned Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or closely related field is required; ABD considered if expected degree completion within semester hired. Established teaching experience in Grades K-12 is also required.
