The Rockefeller University seeks an Assistant Teacher to join Child and Family Center. In cooperation with the Head Teacher and other team members, the Teacher is responsible for planning and executing activities and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities in a safe and healthy learning environment. The Rockefeller University Child and Family Center (CFC) is a progressive early child care provider and preschool and the Teacher will be familiar with this type of approach. Responsibilities include setting an organizational and emotional tone for the room that is responsive to the community, assessing the educational and developmental needs of each child, and planning and implementing a curriculum that will enhance the development of the children in all areas. The Teacher is expected to conduct themselves in a professional, cooperative manner with parents, children, and colleagues. Will also demonstrate respect in our culturally diverse community and maintain a positive attitude. The Teacher will find joy in working with children, be interested in education as a career, have knowledge of project-based learning, and possess positive classroom management skills. Additional responsibilities include helping to maintain a beautiful classroom with documented learning visible throughout and collaborating with colleagues.
