Job Purposes::
DRSS is looking for a full-time instructor to teach Computer Science classes at the Dayton Regional STEM School beginning the 2022-2023 school year. The instructor will join a team of teachers to help enhance and grow our computer science pathway. Full-time instructors teach 5 out 6 periods per day.
Required Qualifications::
Bachelor's degree in computer science, education, technology, engineering or related field earned by August 1, 2022
4-9 or 7-12 teaching license or qualified for alternative license by August 1, 2022
Background or interest in computer science and technology
Outstanding communication and collaborative skills
Proficient in computer operating systems, computer hardware and office applicationsPreferred Qualifications::
Experience with project-based or problem-based learning
Current Career Tech license in information technology
Master's degree or masters level coursework in computer science or software engineeringEssential Functions and percent of time::
Plan, teach, and enhance Computer Science classes – 70%
Collaborate with colleagues – 15%
Develop and disseminate instructional and/or planning resources – 10%
Participate in various meetings (including IEP's, conferences, etc.) and professional development opportunities – 5%Working Conditions::
