Brief Summary of Work for this position:
The Summer Ventures Master Teacher serves as the co-instructor for a one non-credit course taught by a UNCW faculty for the Summer Ventures program.
Duties include working with faculty to prepare instructional materials for the course that are appropriate for high school students; supervising high school students engaging in research projects, writing research papers and preparing scientific presentations; manages student behavior and expectations for course performance; works with graduate student assistant to ensure any lab spaces are properly set up for instruction; maintains communication with Summer Ventures administrative office to ensure all student documents are complete and course instructional supply needs are met; drives course vans to field sites for course instruction.
SVSM Students will check in on Sunday, June 26, 2022; final presentations are scheduled for Saturday, July 23, 2022. Presence is required at student orientation and final presentations; orientation occurs on June 26, 2022 and the final student research symposium takes place July 23, 2022. General hours of work are 8:00AM – 4:30PM Monday through Friday.
