FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Kingsborough Community College's (University Skills Immersion Program) is seeking qualfified Math Instructor to lead and/or design intensive Immersion (or ASAP) workshops in our Winter and Summer modules. Successful candidates will be appointed on Continuing Education Teacher (CET) lines and will be eligible to teach up to 20 hours per week in Kingsborough's 6-week Winter (January/February) and Summer (July/August) modules with potential for additional hours in the Fall and Spring terms.
Teaches Continuing Education courses and performs related work.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement wil be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regiment. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational and professional qualifications appropriate to teaching assignments.
Preferred Qualificaitons:
Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or equivalent
Successful experience in teaching developmental Mathematics, especially at the community college level
Knowledge of current teaching practices, including assessment of student learning outcomes
Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disabiltiy and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Familiarity with CUNY policies and practices in developmental education
Experience working with adaptive learning software (ALEKS, Connect Math, MyMathLab, WebAssign and other platforms)
COMPENSATION
$40.45 - $56.10 per hour. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
