OverviewThe Graduate School of Education is seeking a half-time faculty member in education with a background in
EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION. The faculty member will coordinate and teach in the EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION credential program. The selected individual will fulfill the research, teaching and service role(s) of an Assistant or Associate Professor of EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION (depending on qualifications and experience). The selected individual reports to the Dean and Director of the GSOE and works cooperatively with the members of other divisions in the college in building, maintaining, and supporting integrated program. The person in this position also provides university service on various university, college, and non-university committees, groups, and agencies.

ResponsibilitiesDuties for this position include coordinating the EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION program and teaching one of the EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION courses. Courses include Transition Preparation for College and Career Readiness, Communication, Technology and Collaboration in Education, Positive Behavior Supports, Assessment and the IEP Process, Evidence-based Practices for Neuro-diverse Students, Evidence-based practices for students with extensive support needs, Inclusive School Environments for all Learners, Orientation to Clinical Experience & Seminar and Clinical Field Experience Practicum and Seminar. Individual must be familiar with the CCTC standards for teacher preparation programs.
Qualifications- Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION or closely related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years full-time experience working with students in K-12 education in teaching and leadership positions
- Teaching experience at the university level preferred.
- Ability to coach and advise K-12 and future K-12 teachers.
- Demonstrated familiarity with pedagogy and practices for EDUCATION SPECIALIST TEACHER PREPARATION and national and state content standards, and methods for supporting diverse student populations.
- Ability to integrate appropriate educational technologies into teaching and learning.
- Familiarity with national landscape on DEI integration and requirements for the institution.
- Skill with collaborating with agencies and personnel within and external to the university, including PreK-12 school site staff and faculty, and district personnel.
- Experience with grant writing desirable.
