Job Summary:
Gonzaga University's School of Education in Spokane, WA invites applications for one, full-time, fixed-term, non-tenure-track position in the Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program, in the Teacher Education department. The position involves teaching core and elective MA/TESOL and ELL Endorsement courses, supervising Thesis/Projects, advising and mentoring candidates one-on-one, and engaging candidates in meaningful community-based projects. The MA/TESOL program integrates theory and practice to build candidates' knowledge of language and its use, and to explore the interrelationships of cultures, teaching methods and language acquisition. Faculty and students work collaboratively to explore innovations in learning and teaching. Hands-on projects and other field-based learning opportunities prepare candidates to plan, teach, reflect, research and lead in schools and the community. TESOL Programs is launching an ELL Endorsement Certificate program in 2023 for in-service K-12 teachers and is therefore particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in K-12 ELL teaching and teacher-training.
