Position Summary
The School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University is recruiting one exceptional teaching specialist position focused on both undergraduate instruction and research project management. This position will be overseen by Dr. Chris Melde and involves teaching two undergraduate courses per semester during the academic year and management of federally funded and foundation supported research projects. The position will include activities in support of ongoing projects, such as recruitment of study subjects, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and open-source data collection, as well as ample time to conduct basic and translational research on existing data sources.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal up to an additional 2 years, contingent on performance.

Required Degree
Masters -Criminal Justice or related field
Minimum Requirements
- Upon starting the position, the candidate will have graduated from an accredited college or university with a masters degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., criminal justice, psychology, sociology, epidemiology, public health, social work).
- Minimum 2-years of experience in primary data collection and project management related activities—may be included in doctoral degree training time—as well as experience as an instructor for undergraduate-level courses.
