We are seeking hard-working, collaborative, certified teachers to lead classrooms in the Math Masters annual summer program this year. The Math Master summer program is designed to utilize evidence-based practice in math instruction and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to boost learners' math skills during the month of July.
Program Logistics:
The program is offered to students on Monday through Thursday afternoons. The core program begins at 1:00pm and ends at 4:30pm, with the Teacher's hours ranging between 12:00pm to 5:00pm depending on student transportation and preparation time.
Role & Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher, the Teacher will be responsible for the day-to-day procedures and organization of a classroom in the program. They will maintain attendance records, lead daily meetings, and communicate with parents. The Teacher will also lead whole group instruction and activities and will supervise the graduate-student Instructors during instruction and activities. Evidence-Based Practice and ABA: All elements of the Math Masters program are grounded on evidence-based procedures for learning, skill maintenance, and generalization. Methods derived from ABA. Northeastern faculty members are Board Certified Behavior Analysts and will provide training for teachers, and behavior analytic supervised fieldwork hours for all hours accrued as part of the Math Masters program if desired.
Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts Teacher Certification
1 year of elementary teaching experience (may include student teaching)
Training:
Although experience with ABA is preferred, the Teacher will complete training on evidence-based instructional methods, conducting Direct Instruction and fluency-based instruction, Responsive Classroom procedures, data collection and analysis, general behavior management strategies, and working with minors.
