The Assistant Educator works onsite at The Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development. This position serves within Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences and reports to the Director of the Piper Child Development Center. This position will work closely with other Piper staff, children and their families, student workers, etc.
A High School Diploma and less than one year of experience is required. An Associate's Degree and three years of experience is preferred.
*The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and TB test prior to start date. First Aid and CPR are required but can be completed after the offer of employment if not already certified.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Manage day-to-day functions of assigned classroom
Provide support and coverage of lead teacher when unavailable
Provide supervision and care of students
Ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures
Instill guidance and appropriate teaching and caregiving practices to support students
Maintain a high level of professionalism in each classroom
Act in a moral and ethical manner to reflect the purpose of Baylor University and the Piper Center
Maintain organization of supplies and equipment
Complete a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Comply with university policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
