The Department of Teaching and Learning at Oakland University invites you to join its dynamic faculty team. We are accepting applications for a full-time Special Instructor in elementary teacher education. This teaching-track faculty role offers the opportunity to attain job security and involves responsibilities in both teaching and service activities.
Job Description: We seek to hire a Special Instructor with expertise in teacher education who can successfully teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to educational foundations and/or a relevant content area (e.g., math, science, social studies, or literacy education), depending on the candidate's expertise. We are interested in a faculty member whose teaching practice is grounded in contemporary research in the discipline; whose work demonstrates a strong commitment to equitable teaching practices, social justice and diversity; who has an interest in and/or experience with practice-based teacher education; who is eager to work collaboratively within the department, across departments, within our university-school partnerships; and who is interested in community engagement through service-learning opportunities for students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate or ABD (with completion by August 2025) in teacher education or related fields and successful teaching experience at the PK-12 level.
