Job Description:
This position supports the Director and reports to the Dean of Global Education. The position Is responsible for delivering customized English-language training to students In the Center for English Language Programs (CELP). The position includes teaching In one or more programs in the Center for English Language Programs (CELP).
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, English, Education, or closely related field (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application).
- Minimum one (1) year teaching English experience (full time employee, adjunct or GA), preferably teaching language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Strong practical and theoretical background In the field of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL/TESOL).
- Experience teaching and/or working In a U.S. post-secondary institution.
- Ability to work effectively with International students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural, and written/oral communication skills.
Other Requirements:
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes: Up to 20% of the time. Telework: A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employee's permanent/principal work location.
