Job Description: York Country Day School seeks a dynamic and dedicated Theatre teacher to join the faculty as a long-term substitute during a portion of the 2024-2025 school year.
Beginning two weeks prior to the start of the associated teacher?s leave of absence, the long-term substitute teacher will teach courses in Theatre for grades 6-12. The approximate start date will be in March 2025. Exact start and end dates will be determined closer to the service window. The assigned courses include Stagecraft, Acting, Musical Theatre, Improvisation, Scene Study, Lights & Sound for Theatre, and Audition Techniques.

In addition, the candidate should be able to foster critical thinking skills, engage students in classroom discussions, and promote active, student-centered learning.
The ideal candidate should possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in Theatre, English, Education, or a related field. Candidates should have teaching experience and be an excellent communicator and collaborator.
