Ph.D. in Educational Psychology or a related field. Two years experience in data analysis and assessment in a teacher education setting. Five years experience preferred. Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or SAS, and data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI preferred. Experience working with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation is desirable. Experience in a Texas College of Education, presenting to a variety of audiences and for a variety of purposes is helpful. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Provides leadership to the college in the area of teacher evaluation and assessment. Directs the research activities of the teacher preparation program including collection, analysis, and distribution of data related to teacher candidate performance. Oversees and monitors data collection and analysis conducted by team members and disseminates findings through accurate and timely quarterly and annual reports and publications. Evaluates the teacher preparation program to identify areas of strengths and necessary improvements.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Holistically analyzes data collected to make recommendations for improvements within the teacher preparation program. Provides the leadership team with reports that highlight the strengths of the teacher preparation programs, specifically indicating which practices should be maintained. Suggests improvements to curriculum and field-based experiences based on findings from data analysis. Stays abreast of the latest developments in data collection, submission, and security and provide the leadership team with periodic updates. Develops, documents, and implements procedures to ensure compliance with state and national standards for data collection, submission, and security. Monitors personnel responsible for data collection, submission, and security to ensure the state and national standards are followed. Coordinates state-wide efforts to collect teacher evaluations from site-based mentors and administrators. Oversees the collection of data in the field, including partner school districts. Oversees the collection of teachers' video observations. Coordinates collection of data from evaluators of teachers' video observations. Collects and analyzes survey data related to new teacher performance. Conducts focus groups and interviews with new teachers, mentors, administrators, and Educator Preparation Programs (EPP) personnel. Analyzes qualitative information to draw conclusions regarding EPP strengths and weaknesses. Collaborates with other Educator Preparation Programs and School Districts to improve data collection and analysis procedures. Coordinates with internal evaluator and doctoral fellows to ensure all data is collected according to the timeline established by the leadership team. Collaborates with the college's leadership team to ensure successful TEA and CAEP accreditation. Makes recommendations to the leadership team in regards to improvements of assessments and evaluation tools. Performs other related duties as assigned.
