Position Summary
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University is seeking a part-time teaching specialist to teach/co-teach courses in chemical engineering in the Spring 2022 semester. The position may be extended beyond this coming academic year depending on performance and availability of funds. The employment percentage could also change due to departmental needs based on mutual agreement between the successful candidate and the chairperson. Courses to be taught may include classroom or laboratory sections in chemical engineering based on Department needs. The desired starting date is January 1, 2022. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to teach chemical engineering classes and laboratories at the advanced undergraduate or graduate levels. A strong academic background in chemical engineering practice is an asset for candidates.

Required Degree
Bachelors -Chemical Engineering or closely related
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field. A commitment to excellence in teaching is required.
Desired Qualifications
Strong candidates will have demonstrated academic instructional experience with deep understanding of chemical engineering principles.
